HOW IT ALL STARTED
Our Love Story
Though our roots trace back to opposite ends of South Africa, Matthew from the misty hills and lavender fields of Pietermaritzburg, and Melicia from the purple Jacaranda-lined streets of Pretoria, our paths crossed in the most serendipitous of places: a small architectural firm in Nieuw Muckleneuk. Melicia was still studying, Matt had just completed his master’s, and what started as a quiet friendship blossomed into something beautifully unshakeable.

Four years (and many shared playlists, Johannesburg archi-trips, and a delicious number of foodie moments) later, life opened a new chapter for us in 2023, when we were both called to Dubai. Once again, we found ourselves sharing an office, this time as seasoned lunch buddies.

Our days are now filled with creativity, skyscrapers, and desert sun, but more importantly, a shared life built on deep friendship and faith.We’ve always been drawn to beauty — whether in the form of city skylines, nature trails, or soulful songs – but our greatest shared joy is the love we have for Jesus. It’s His steady hand that has woven our story together, and we are beyond excited for the adventure that lies ahead, with Him at the centre of it all.

Dear Family & Friends, We are so excited to be celebrating our wedding with you on 2 May 2026 at Brahman Hills! Because we would love for all our guests to stay at the venue (for ease of travel and to ensure everyone can simply arrive and relax without worrying about driving late at night), we have negotiated a special accommodation rate with Brahman Hills.
The cost is R800 per person per night.

Are kids welcome?
We warmly welcome little ones under 24 months, as we completely understand they need to be close to their parents. If this applies to you, please let us know – we will do our best to make things comfortable for you on the day!
For any other children not listed on the guest list, please reach out to Matt or Mel, and we’ll be happy to assist further.
Can I bring a date?
As much as we love your squeezes, kindly note that whoever the invite is addressed to, is who is invited.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We have arranged a menu that is quite diverse and should meet different dietary requirements; however, should the menu options fall outside of your specific dietary preferences, please could we ask that you indicate it in your RSVP and we will make sure you’re catered to accordingly.
